PREPARATION
NOTE: We will do this workshop by Zoom, and Zoom info will be sent the day prior to all of those who are registered for this event.
SUPPLIES: If you want to do a virtual collage, no supplies required. If you prefer to make a paper collage, please bring a large poster board, magazines, scissors and glue.
ALSO . . . BRING SOMETHING VISUALLY FUN – a hat, crazy sunglasses, stuffed animal, props!
AGENDA
9:30 – 10:00 . . . OPTIONAL Early arrival – engage and connect, get to know each other, share what’s been going on in your life.
10:00 – 12:00 . . . PART 1: Workshop Learning Lab . . . engage, connect, inspire, ignite! Explore the limits of human cognition, and how to overcome what’s “practical & realistic” to discover what SEEMS “impossible”, but . . . if it WERE possible . . . would transform your life and our world for the better.
12:00 – 1:00 . . . LUNCH BREAK – During this break you will need to spend at least 20 – 30 minutes creating your virtual COLLAGE that captures your future visually. (We will use Google Slides for virtual collages, AND . . . you can make a paper collage if you wish!)
1:00 – 3:30 MANY THINGS SEEM “IMPOSSIBLE” . . . then merely difficult . . . then eventually INEVITABLE! We will share our collages and “News From the Future”, then work in “thinking partner teams” to “think from the future” and discover a path forward towards the future that you imagine.
How to create the future? Begin by imagining it! And do it in a psychologically safe space, with people who say “Sure! Why not?!” instead of being “realistic” and telling you WHY NOT.
It takes NO COURAGE to be REALISTIC! 😱🤪🙋🏼♀️
DESCRIPTION: Do you have a clear and compelling vision of your future that inspires and motivates you? Would you like to create a magnificent and outrageously successful image of your work, your career, or your life, that would ignite in you the enthusiasm and energy you currently lack? This workshop will allow you to create that image through highly engaging, interactive exercises and discussion, the use of a “treasure map” technique, and time for reflection and analysis.
In just a half a day, this workshop will enable you to create a real breakthrough, first through a significant and permanent shift in your thinking, and then in your reality and you implement your possibilities. The #1 reason that people don’t achieve their goals is . . . they don’t have goals. The fear of failure prevents many of us from even beginning. Without encouragement . . . we settle, put our dreams aside, and tell ourselves they’re not realistic anyhow. HOGWASH!
You will engage your subconscious mind to transform the possibilities for your career into a collage of pictures and words that will serve as a visible and tangible symbol to call you to action. You will create your collage, analyze your collage, and then plan for achieving your desired outcomes. (We will provide a selection of magazines to clip from but we also encourage you to bring your own for a greater variety.)
It’s easy to get caught up in day-to-day issues, settle for ‘the way things are’, or let ourselves be convinced to be ‘practical’ or ‘realistic.’ And even the most successful among us sometimes wonder ‘Is this all there is?’, or ‘What’s next?’ In fact, both our past successes and fear of failure can prevent us from even IMAGINING possibilities that seem out of reach. This workshop will enable you to remove the greatest obstacle to your success, your own self-limiting assumptions and beliefs about what’s possible.
Conceive it. Believe it. Achieve it!

We are offering this session for a minimal registration fee of $5.00 (exclusive of Evenbrite fees). Kimberly’s standard price for this virtual workshop is $250, but she is donating her services to The Mentoring Club for this workshop. Given the widespread impact of the pandemic to workers, including reduced incomes and loss of jobs, if you would like to attend and need help with getting free access, please contact liesel@thementoringclub.org.
