What kind of leadership do we need in the world today?
About this event
With all the challenges we are seeing and hearing in the world today, have you ever wondered what kind of leadership we need in the world today?
In the animal kingdom, there are two leadership models we can look at:
Elephants: “Elephant herds are led by an alpha-female, a matriarch, and she is not chosen by her ability to be the most aggressive or assertive. She is chosen by the group, collectively, because of her ability to demonstrate leadership through her wisdom, strength and extraordinary skills in problem solving, social intelligence, openness, ability to communicate, decisiveness, patience, confidence, and compassion.” – Jessica Korthuis, Founder of Sohuis
Lions: “Lions have always been considered as the symbol of power, bravery, courage, strength, fearlessness, and ferocity. These attributes contribute as a building block of his success as a leader.” – Beenish Razzaq on Medium
Global pandemic, climate change, political instability, war, economic uncertainties, diversity, equity, and inclusion, the changing ways of work (The Great Resignation, Hybrid Work) – these are just some of the challenges we hear and read about day-in and day-out.
In this conversation, we will listen to and learn from our mentors’ similar or different views about leadership and their take on what kind of leadership we need in the world today. Based on their individual backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives, we can get a wider view of the challenges leaders are facing today and may be facing in the future.
