Mentoring Matters – June Talk (2021)

Allyship: Actions that build equity and inclusion in the workplace

About this event

Everywhere around us we hear about being allies – but what does that truly mean? Jossie Haines will take the time to break it down and share with you:

  • what it means to be an ally
  • how to be an ally at work
  • why it’s crucial to make allyship part of your daily life.

Allyship is about turning intention into action. In the workplace, it includes speaking out when you see something biased or unfair happening — even if it feels awkward to do so, taking the time to slow down your decision making to consider bias, and ensuring company practices are fair and equitable for all.

Jossie Haines will be providing you with actionable tips and strategies you can start applying right away to build a more equitable and inclusive workplace for everyone.
