Mentoring Matters Talk – June 2023

Learn from the journeys of mentors – navigating the world of work, discovering meaningful work, and the fulfillment of doing what you love to do.

Do you wonder what your work-life will look like in 2 years, 5 years, 10 years?

Does anyone really know and can control exactly where their career and life decisions will take them years from now?

Probably not.

What we do know about and can control are the decisions we make on a daily basis. These decisions, if we are honest with ourselves and live our values, lead us to our authentic self and a place where we discover what is meaningful work for us.

It takes courage, passion, a sense of purpose and service, and self-leadership to eventually find fulfillment in doing what we love to do.

Join us in listening to the stories of Brian, Olga, and Robert and engaging with them about how they rose from the ranks and even created their own ranks in their career and life journeys.

Meet Our Featured Mentor Panelists:

Brian Golod

Brian Golod was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina; studied Computer Science at the number one middle and high school in Argentina.

After working for the Government of Canada (twice), tech multinationals, startups, and everything in between, he realized he was able to help professionals advance in their careers. He started doing this on the side for free to give back to society, eventually realizing he couldn’t live the rest of his life without pursuing his purpose.

He says it’s impossible to describe how he feels every time someone gets the job they want with his guidance.

Olga Ismagilova

Olga Ismagilova is a highly qualified finance professional with a CIMA fellowship, possessing 20+ years in international finance. Olga has also worked in various industries, including telecommunications, audit, consulting, banking, finance, and manufacturing, and has extensive international experience covering 42 countries. In addition, she provides mentorship support and career coaching and consulting services, and is an advocate of continuous professional development, holding several certifications and serving on a Regional Engagement Committee for CIMA and AICPA.

Robert Shepard

Robert is deeply passionate about his work and who he works with. Enjoyment in his role has helped bring success, which, in turn, has helped bring promotions, allowing him to manage an ambitious team of reps across EMEA and APAC.

A lover of technology, old and new, combined with a seeker of people keeps him focused and aligned with global colleagues, regardless of time-zones and locations. As someone with 15+ years of experience, he has learnt enough over the years to understand he’ll never know it all. And he’s ok with that
