Fun Day of Fishing and Picnicking at the Lake – September (2021)

We would like to invite you and your family to come join The Mentoring Club. We will learn how to fish and enjoy a nice meal by the lake.

Date and Time: Saturday, September 4, 2021: 8am – 2pm

Place: Lake Del Valle, Livermore, CA 94550

Ticket Price (Park entry fee of $6 per car is not included):

• Adult: $30
• Kid: age 5 – 12 with parent supervision: $15
• Please prepare to pay a park entrance fee of $6 per car.

Although this is a family friendly event, we are only able to permit those who are 5 years and older to partake in the fishing activities. Please take your young ones (below 5 years old) with you only if you can have adult supervision for them while some of your family members enjoy the fishing experience.

The ticket price will include a short fishing lesson and BBQ lunch. September 4 is Free Fishing Day for California; therefore, no fishing license is required for that date.

The day’s schedule is as follows:

8am to 9am

• The Mentoring Club’s Louie Lau and friends will offer a simple fishing lesson and guide participants in their fishing equipment preparation.

9am to Noon

• We will then apply what we learned and try to catch some fish! The expected species at the lake are catfish and striped bass. Louie and friends will be there to guide and help fishing participants.

Noon to 2pm

• We will then have a BBQ Lunch prepared by the Mentoring Club Volunteers.

Recommended Equipment Specifications to bring:

1. Please bring a fishing rod and reel for freshwater.
2. It is also recommended to bring a rod holder if you have one.
3. Fishing line should be 8lb – 12lb.
4. Fishing hook should be size 2 or size 4 J Hook.
5. Fishing weight should be ¾ – 1oz.
6. Other items such as scissors, fishing tackles and pliers

The Mentoring Club will provide:

1. Louie will bring extra fishing tackles for spare.
2. Fishing bait will be frozen anchovies and will be provided.

Other Recommended Items to bring:

1. Hat
2. Jacket
3. Suntan Lotion

Waiver and Release

By registering, you understand and agree that your participation in The Mentoring Club Fun Day of Fishing and BBQ program (the “Program”) is at your own risk, and you assume all risks associated with your participation. You understand that participating in the Program may have risks, and you should not participate unless you are medically able to do so. You agree that you are healthy enough to participate, and you voluntarily assume all risks associated with participating in the Program. Neither The Mentoring Club nor the persons conducting the Program will have any liability to you in connection with your participation in the Program. You hereby waive, release, and forever discharge and hold harmless The Mentoring Club and the persons conducting the Program from all direct, indirect, and consequential damages and from any and all claims, demands, liabilities, or causes of action of any kind or character whatsoever arising out of or resulting from your participation in the Program. This release and discharge expressly includes all claims, known and unknown, and any injury, disability or damage (including death) resulting from your own acts or omissions, or from any act or omission (including negligence) of The Mentoring Club and the persons conducting the Program in any way related, directly or indirectly, to your participation in the Program.

About The Mentoring Club’s Give Back lead Forward Community Services Program:

This event is part of The Mentoring Club’s Give Back Lead Forward Community Services Program. The program encourages community building among our mentors, mentees, and volunteers. Our community members share their talent and expertise that align with our leadership core values, including living a balanced life in harmony with the communities whose lives we touch through mentoring. All ticket sales made through this event will go towards funding The Mentoring Club’s future endeavors.
